Buying Info for Hot Tubs and Spas
Any
time you are contemplating a one time expensive purchase, spending
time to get multiple hot tub or spa quotes and gather as much information
as possible always proves beneficial.
Keep in mind you are not just purchasing just your hot tub but
the surrounding area or hot tub deck which is a very important of
your purchase. There are also many different models of portable
hot tubs that may prove of interest to you. Options such as these,
as well as speaking with a reliable hot tub supplier or contractor,
are all good ideas that form the foundation of a good purchase decision.
Don't just go looking for hot tubs for sale, do your homework first!
When choosing a Hot Tub or Spa Manufacturer, Dealer and Contractor
keep these questions in mind!
Questions to ask about Manufacturers
- How long has the company been in business?
(15 years is a good minimum)
- What type of guarantees or warranty does the manufacturer provide?
- How dedicated is the dealer/manufacturer to spas? Are they primarly
a Spa Manufacturer or do they produce/sell other products that
may overshadow their emphasis on spas? (If so, this may take precedence
over spa sales and service and ultimately your satisfaction.)
Questions to ask the Dealer
- Can the dealer provide references from past customers?
- Approximately how much will spa and accompanying materials,
customized to your needs, cost?
- Is the dealer able to offer the style and quality that you
are seeking?
- Does the dealer belong to the National Spa and Pool institute,
which establishes industry standards of quality?
- Is the contractor/dealer licensed and bonded?
- Ask for references from past customers since customer satisfaction
is a measure of the reliability and professionalism of the spa
retailer. Ask around and find out about the experience others
have had with the business. Ask the retailer to provide evidence
of satisfied customers.
Ask for a copy of the "actual" warranty before purchasing
a spa and remember that a warranty is only as good as the manufacturer
who backs it up. What spa parts are covered under warranty and
for how long? Make sure the heater, surface/structure, components,
tile and skirt are included.
Questions to ask Your Contractor
- About how long will it take to be installed and completed?
- Is the contractor/dealer licensed and bonded?
